Child Welfare Competencies

Competencies can help. They are statements of all the skill and knowledge necessary to conduct child welfare work, and are the foundation for Competency Based Training Systems. They can be formulated into training needs assessment instruments, which helps you determine which training activity to offer. This resulting data is used to determine the scope and depth of learning interventions as well as specific content, levels of learning and training methods. Reading through the competency listings for a specific topic can help stimulate creative thinking about workshop development.
