Marketing and Communications Manager

Susan has over 35 years’ experience working for government and non-profit organizations in a variety of capacities.  Currently serving as the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Institute for Human Services, she maintains various marketing and communication initiatives as well as instructional design projects with subject matter experts on the creation and delivery of online courses focused on child welfare topics.

​Previously, Susan served as the Director of Administration and Marketing for the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children for almost 5 years where she worked closely with the Executive Director, Board and served on various committees including Membership, Publications and Events.  In that time, she helped to double membership numbers and received two awards for dedication to the association. 

Susan has developed a wide array of skills including operations, copywriting/editing, web design, and instructional design to name a few.  She values a collaborative approach and prides herself on the ability to manage a wide array of competing priorities. Susan has a “never stop learning” attitude that keeps fresh ideas flowing and with an eye toward following best practice trends.

In her free time, Susan enjoys pilates, cycling, her pets, and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends.
